Briya’s mission is to strengthen families through culturally responsive two-generation education.
Families enroll in Briya’s two-generation program together: immigrant parents study English (from basic to advance levels), digital literacy, and parenting while their children receive a high-quality early education. Briya also offers a high school diploma and training for Medical Assistant and Child Development Associate credentials. At Briya, families build on their strengths and gain tools and support for improved educational, economic, and social opportunities.

After wrapping up classes, our Early Childhood department held another successful Exhibition of Learning. This event offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on the learning that has taken place throughout the year—among children, between educators, and within the department. The exhibition also reminds us how foundational these early years are for a child’s future and the educator’s role in shaping that journey!
One of the most meaningful moments of our National External Diploma Program (NEDP) graduation was hearing our graduates share their stories in front of the people who supported them along the way. In this video, we’re sharing a glimpse of their inspiring words. Congrats to the class of 2026!

We are proud to share that Briya student Rubi won second place for her One World Education, "Protecting the Mental Health and Emotional Well-Being of Migrant Families Worldwide." She has been a student at Briya since 2020, starting in Basic 2 and now studying in Advanced Plus.
Meet a Briya student who started English classes while pregnant. Now, she’s just down the hall from her son, learning and growing together. Briya has become her second home and now, they get to enjoy Family Time side by side!

In June, Briya celebrated three National External Diploma Program (NEDP) graduates. At the ceremony, DC Public Charter School Board Board Treasurer Carisa Stanley Beatty gave remarks, as did the program manager and each student. NEDP is a rigorous program where students earn a high school diploma by using their work and life experiences to demonstrate abilities in subject areas that are aligned with the College and Career Readiness Standards.
We are proud of our graduates for balancing school, family, and work responsibilities!

Last month, we celebrated our CDA graduates! The ceremonies featured several guest speakers, including David Daniels, CEO of the Bainum Family Foundation , and
Racine Tucker-Hamilton, Director of Communications at the DC Public Charter School Board. Cheers to our newest early childhood educators and the many young learners they'll help to grow!

We're honored to be featured as a national bright spot for early literacy by the Center on Early Learning Success. Building a strong foundation for literacy starts early, and it was a pleasure to share how we create the conditions for successful literacy outcomes.
