CUA - JU LL.M. in American Law Join the CUA Columbus School of Law LL.M. Program in American Law, the American Law Program, and International Business & Trade Summer Law Program! degree.

The Columbus School of Law of The Catholic University of America and the Jagiellonian University, Faculty of Law and Administration, offer a course of studies leading to the LL.M. The LL.M. is an internationally recognized professional and academic postgraduate law degree. The CUA LL.M. can be obtained through courses taken in one summer in residence in Cracow, Poland, a series of one and two-week courses offered in the following academic year, and a summer in residence at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

The American Law Program is starting a new chapter!

We’re excited to welcome participants full of energy and commitment.

Welcome, Marcin Czopek!

Marcin is a fourth-year Law student at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Academically, he is particularly interested in corporate law, tax law, M&A, and international business law. Alongside his studies, he is actively involved in student organisations, including the Tax Law Students’ Association and ELSA Kraków. He also works for an international company, where he focuses on indirect taxation.

He is fluent in English (C1) and currently developing his Spanish (A2). In the future, he hopes to build a career combining law, taxation, and international business. In his free time, he enjoys running, basketball, travelling, and learning languages.

We are undoubted that our program will help Marcin, as much as the rest of the students, to broaden their knowledge and experience in fields that they are interested in!🔥

Tosia is a first-year student at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. She loves travelling and exploring new places - particularly by immersing herself in their culture and fascinating history. Welcome, Marcelina Majerczyk!

Marcelina Majerczyk holds a Bachelor’s degree in Intellectual Property and New Media Law from the Jagiellonian University, where she is currently pursuing her English-taught Master’s degree in the same field. Her background includes experience at a specialized patent law firm and practical training with international law firms in the areas of intellectual property. Driven by a global perspective, her goal is to leverage her knowledge of US legal framework to counsel multinational corporations, with an eye toward a future career in the United States. She is a highly analytical, communicative, and well-organized person who successfully connects her legal education with skills gained through charity and cultural volunteer work. Outside of her academic life, Marcelina is deeply passionate about fashion, art history, and studying foreign languages.

Welcome, Sahra Su Marangoz!

Sahra Su Marangoz is a first-year BA student in International Relations and Area Studies at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. She currently serves as Public Relations Team Leader at AIAS and has volunteered with prominent international youth programs including the European Youth Parliament, EuroWeek, and UNA Europa, gaining hands-on experience in digital strategy, event management, and intercultural facilitation. Sahra aspires to build a career within international organizations and NGOs, where she can combine her passion for diplomacy with her skills in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement. She is known for her detail-oriented and collaborative approach, thriving in multicultural environments and cross-cultural leadership roles. Outside of her academic and professional commitments, she enjoys creative work through digital design and stays actively engaged with international youth diplomacy networks.

Maria is a third-year law student at Jagiellonian University with a particular interest in intellectual property law, which she hopes to pursue professionally. During her studies, she has taken part in several academic research projects, developing her analytical and research skills. She aims to broaden her legal knowledge and gain practical experience in her chosen field. She is open-minded and ambitious, and she enjoys meeting new people. In her free time, she works as a tennis coach and plays the piano. She also enjoys travelling and learning new languages.

We’re proud to welcome talented individuals ready to take part in this inspiring experience.

Welcome, Samantha Bennett!

Samantha is a Polish-American BA second-year student in the International Relations and Area Studies program at Jagiellonian University, specializing in International Security and the Americas. She is originally from Denver, Colorado, USA, but now studies full-time in Krakow, Poland. She holds dual citizenship in Poland and the United States and has native fluency in English, B2-level proficiency in Polish, and A2-level proficiency in French. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the UJ Times, the Jagiellonian University's only international student newspaper, focused on politics and international relations. She is also part of the larger student organization AIAS (Association of International Area Studies). She has multiple years of experience in student journalism, mock trial where she was a top-ranked competitor in both her state and the country, and speech and debate where she was an internationally ranked competitor. After her bachelor's, she plans on attending law school in the United States. She loves sports history, reading, constitutional law, and watching hockey.

Welcome, Piotr Banaśkiewicz!

Piotr is a law graduate of the Jagiellonian University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Relations at the same university. As part of his studies, he attended the University of Oklahoma in the United States and Sapienza University of Rome, and he also gained professional experience at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Belgrade. He hopes to build a career combining his interests in law, international relations, and public service. He is an ambitious, curious, and open-minded person who enjoys encountering new ideas and perspectives. In his free time, he is interested in cinema, non-fiction literature, travelling, and sports.

Joanna is a Kraków-based attorney-at-law and Jagiellonian University graduate. She works with tech companies on contracts, data privacy and intellectual property.
