Happy first day of May! Encourage your incoming Eagle to join the University College, AU’s oldest and largest living-learning community, which is open to all first-year students – with any prospective major – who aren’t already a part of another residential community! In University College, students take a Complex Problems seminar (a graduation requirement) with other students who live on their residence hall floor. They also participate in social and academic events tied to their seminar, which strengthens their relationships with peers, faculty, and the larger AU community, contributing to positive outcomes like greater sense of belonging, stronger academic performance, and greater persistence into the second year. Students need to reserve their space by May 6: http://go.american.edu/uccornerstone-reservation.
