Good beer requires quality barley... and quality barley requires resourceful workers. That's why we're proud to call Darrel Miller, Operations and US Procurement Site Director at RahrBSG, one of the BEST IN BREW.

Darrel has been a team leader and exemplary employee at Rahr for 38 years, and a key part of ensuring the supply chain of high-quality barley to malt stays healthy and strong.

Darrel has been instrumental in supporting two-row barley varieties with dormancy, enabling better acceptance of U.S.-grown barley from North Dakota. His dedication to the job has had lasting impacts on breweries, large and small, by ensuring that the supply chain can adapt to the needs of a dynamic industry.

We're pouring some Cape May IPA today!

The Beer Institute was excited to host Cape May Brewery in our offices today and yesterday. Pictured here are Cape May co-founder and CEO Ryan Krill and his father, co-founder Bob Krill, enjoying a pint at the BI Bar. They started the brewery in 2011 alongside Ryan’s college roommate, Chris Henke.

Thanks for helping bring a little bit of summer Shore energy to Washington, D.C.!

Slam that laptop shut. Put that phone down.

Grab a beer. Go outside. Hang out with your favorite people.

It's officially . Make it count!

It’s BEER-CLEAN GLASS DAY...

..and yes, a clean beer glass matters.

Even if your glass looks clean to the naked eye, tiny traces of grease, soap or towel lint can kill foam and dull flavor.

When washing your beer glasses, use cool water and an odorless detergent, then let them air dry.

Right before serving, give the glass a quick cold rinse for better foam, better aroma and a better drinking experience overall.
