Welcome our two newest partners at School Leader Lab, Maya Stewart and Akosua Kelley! We are so excited to have them as part of our amazing team.

We are full of grief as we process the racially motivated domestic terrorist attack that took 10 lives in Buffalo this past weekend. It is another reminder of the danger of being black in America. We acknowledge the emotional toll on students, teachers, and leaders, and in particular leaders of color, who show up to another day of work in fear and sadness.

Our team at School Leader Lab opened the week with space to listen and be present with each other and members of our SLL family. We can't offer answers - there is no way to make sense of the deep hatred and anti-blackness that continues to plague this nation. Still, let us not become numb to the pain or normalize the trauma. While we cannot always fix the ills of our country at large, we can take responsibility for what happens in our own school buildings. Our hope is that everyone who leads takes time to open up space this week.
