This poster is stunning! We’re proud to see how far This Little Land of Mines has come over the past two years. The importance of films about post-war/ post-conflict cannot be stressed enough. They teach Westerners that wars we chose to start have long lasting consequences for others. We cannot wait to see the final product! If you haven’t heard about what the director Erin has been doing check out the page!
Happy to release our official poster for This Little Land of Mines!!
Do you ?

Update so far!
Day 8:
Our last day in Ho Chi Minh City was spent exploring the Central Post Office (preserved remnant of French colonial times), the Notre Dame Basilica (Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception), Ben Thanh Market and Ben Thanh Street Food Market!
We then boarded on our 15 hour sleeper train on route to Da Nang.
Now we’re on our way to visit the Champa Ruins in My Son after connecting with the president, Mr. To
Nam, of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) at their inaugural Center in the rural Hoa Vang district of Da Nang.
We were touched with how welcoming the center was — we were immediately included in their New Years celebratory party right before our briefing with the president! We learned that the organization focuses on the most vulnerable children who are affected by Agent Orange/Dioxin in the rural district and are primarily funded by the community and local/international NGO’s. The daycare center provides vocational training, education, physical therapy, and recreational activities for the children throughout the day before dropping them off to their respective families within the area.
We are grateful for this partnership and hope to maintain our relationship with VAVA by raising advocacy for issues pertaining to Agent Orange/Dioxin.
We’ll be in Da Nang to visit two more of our partner organizations until the 8th, and then we’ll be onwards to Hanoi! Thanks for tuning in!

We landed in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday!
Now we’re on our way to Cu Chi Tunnels to have a better glimpse at the immense network of connecting underground tunnels used as the base of operations by the Viet Cong during the 1968 Tet Offensive and will be meeting Tu Du Peace Village representatives later today to learn more about how they are supporting generational victims of Agent Orange. ❤️💛
Stay tuned to this page for more updates from us throughout this program!
Grateful for AU Alternative Breaks for the support!

Introducing team member Allie Rivera!
"I’m a huge nerd for anything history related, so that was a major factor in me choosing to go to Vietnam for an Alternative Break! I also have done group travel in the past and, as it is my favorite form of travel, I thought that doing the same through American University would be a great experience. I told my two good friends (including my roommate) about the trip and they are coming as well!"

Just three more weeks until we depart for Vietnam! Our next team member spotlight goes to Emily Tran!
“Growing up, my father would tell me stories of his escape from Vietnam to the United States during the Vietnam War. As a boat person, he faced many atrocities on his journey and numerous challenges upon his arrival to the U.S. However, he never spoke of his homeland’s condition after the war, which is why I want to learn about post-conflict recovery in Vietnam this trip!”
Fun fact: “I love scrapbooking!”
