Harvard law grad, first Black editor of the Harvard Law Review, Constitutional Law professor, and oh yeah, first Black POTUS Barack Obama

Charlotte E. Ray, the first Black woman lawyer in the US, graduated from Howard Law School in 1872, becoming also the first practicing female lawyer in Washington DC.

Macon Allen Bolling, the first Black lawyer and jurist in the US, a member of the Maine bar and Justice of the Peace in Massachusetts

That time when Ketanji Brown-Jackson, the nation’s first Black woman Supreme Court justice, brought receipts to oral argument in Merrill v. Milligan and referred to the report of the people who drafted the Fourteenth Amendment to demonstrate that it was never intended to be face neutral but rather was meant to lift up those who had been oppressed.
