NFM is dedicated to improving the quality of higher education by advancing professional equity and securing academic freedom for all adjunct and contingent faculty. For this purpose, NFM engages in education and advocacy to provide economic justice and academic equity for all college faculty. NFM is committed to creating stable, equitable, sustainable, non-exploitative academic environments that p
romote more effective teaching, learning, and research. New Faculty Majority and its associated Foundation are currently undergoing internal restructuring in order to better carry out our mission to improve the quality of higher education by advancing professional equity and securing academic freedom for all adjunct and contingent faculty. At the same time, NFM is making the issue of adjunct and contingent equity an increasingly visible issue in the national debate about the future of higher education. As part of our internal restructuring process, NFM leadership is formalizing some of our procedures and policies. In particular, we are reconfiguring our social media presence so that it best reflects NFM's core values and goals, encourages the participation of current members, inspires new members to join us, and preserves the space that NFM has always provided for a diversity of views. Although this reconfiguration has resulted in some inconsistencies in the NFM social media presence, we are excited about these changes and the increased visibility of adjunct and contingent faculty issues in the national debate. We are confident that our members and supporters will see an even stronger NFM social media presence as a result.
