Big love to our scholar-activists in the entrepreneurship program through our partnership with E3! 🙌🏾 Y’all continue to show what vision, discipline, and purpose look like in action.

Special shoutout to Zachariah for taking home the win in the pitch competition! 🌱 His company—centered on plants and herbs—is rooted in something powerful, and it’s only up from here.

The future is being built right now… and it’s in great hands. 💪🏾✨

Most schools have conferences about students.
At SJS, conferences happen with students.

Our scholar activists are working hard to prepare for their upcoming Student-Led Conferences — reflecting on progress, celebrating wins, and setting goals with their families and teachers.

SJS families — don’t forget to sign up for your SLC! Let’s keep building the village and growing our scholars.

Grades are out — for schools! We heard from .dc that the Social Justice School scored a 62.7 on its accountability score. This means SJS scored 76% higher than all middle schools in the District of Columbia! Furthermore, our school is ranked as the best standalone middle school for “economically disadvantaged” students. The DC accountability score reflects a school’s overall performance.

We are humbled by this. These results reflect who we are becoming—as a school that is not only academically strong, but one that also creates real conditions for economic mobility through our Guaranteed Together program. We are proving that when we invest deeply in young people and families, academic excellence and community well-being rise together. Thank you for being part of this journey. We will continue to grow, rise, and serve together.”

We’re so proud of this growth marker and all of the work of our staff, educators, Scholar-Activists, their family, and our community supporters. Can’t wait for another year of love, learning, and liberation!
