đź—ł 36 DAYS UNTIL EARLY VOTING BEGINS!

For 113 years, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement and voting rights—a legacy that began in 1913 when our Founders participated in the historic Woman Suffrage Procession in Washington, D.C.

Today, the Eastern Region of Delta Sigma Theta continues that tradition by encouraging communities to be informed, prepared, and engaged in the democratic process.

The 2026 Midterm Election will determine representation and address issues at the federal, state, and local levels. Now is the time to get election-ready.

113 years ago, our Founders marched in the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession, demanding a right that was not yet theirs. Black women would not see full, unimpeded access to the ballot until decades later, and that fight for access has never fully ended.

That history is exactly why National Voter Registration Day, September 15, matters so much to who we are as a Sorority. Every registration honors that struggle and carries it forward. It protects our voice in the decisions that shape our everyday lives: access to healthcare, the strength of our economy, the quality of our schools, and the freedoms we exercise every day.

Registering isn't just a box to check; it's how we claim the seat at the table our Founders marched for. Take a moment this week to check your voter registration status at vote411.org/deltasigmatheta, confirm your polling place, and share this post with three friends. Our legacy is action. Our power is engagement.

Fifty years ago, 20 signatures inked one charter with one vision and that legacy is still growing.

Last night, Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter celebrated in grand style with National First Vice President Rosie Allen-Herring delivering a powerful keynote, reminding every soror in the room: you are your ancestors’ wildest dreams. She was joined by National Secretary Wendy J. Johnson and Eastern Regional Director Marie-Carmel Durandisse Pressley in honoring a chapter built to last.
