Archaeologists at Anykščiai Manor unearthed a 14th-century coin belonging to Jogaila, Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland, unexpectedly pushing back the town's history by at least 50 years, as revealed by the Anykščiai Arts Incubator in a press release.

Thousands of years ago, in present-day Kazakhstan, a young girl was buried with unusual items, including 180 animal ankle bones and a small frog carving on a disc. Archaeologists are currently trying to understand the significance of these artifacts. The girl's grave is located near Ainabulak village in eastern Kazakhstan. It dates back to the Bronze Age in Central Asia, spanning from around 3200 B.C.E. to 1000 B.C.E. This site has yielded over 100 Bronze Age burial mounds that have been excavated by archaeologists.

The remains of a World War II Fighter Plane, specifically a Hungarian-produced Messerschmitt Me-109, were successfully retrieved from Lake Balaton. This retrieval operation took place recently at the Hungarian Defense Forces’ Recreation, Training, and Conference Center in Balatonakarattya, as reported by Magyar Nemzet.

On October 6th, the Culture Centre of the Šalčininkai Region Municipality will unveil an exhibition titled "The Dieveniškės Region: The Expedition of 1951" organized by the Folk Art Department of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art. This exhibit revisits one of the earliest expeditions conducted by the LNMA in the Šalčininkai region. It narrates the tale of a small enclave in Lithuania surrounded by the Dieveniškės bend, highlighting its unique ethnic culture. On display will be artifacts and accompanying documentary materials collected during the expedition.
