🌍 Iran in Focus: Politics, Economy, and the Path Forward

Join the Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center at Howard University for a timely and interdisciplinary discussion exploring the political, economic, and social dynamics shaping Iran today.

Through a student-moderated conversation, our panel of experts will examine:
• The historical arc of U.S.–Iran relations
• The impact of sanctions and global economic pressures
• Regional geopolitics and security dynamics
• Gender movements, activism, and media narratives in Iran
• The role of international law and global institutions

This event is designed to help students and the broader Howard community engage critically with global affairs while exploring career pathways in international law, policy, journalism, and civil society.

The Department of Political Science had a wonderful turnout for our Open House on February 24, 2025, and we are grateful to everyone who joined us. This semesterly event is an important opportunity for students to engage with faculty, learn more about our academic programs, and connect with the many student organizations that make our department vibrant and dynamic. We extend special thanks to Ms. Coates, Dr. Sandridge, and all of the faculty participants whose presence and support made the event such a success, as well as those who offered extra credit or encouraged their students to attend.
