👀 Check out this fascinating documentary premiering tonight on MPT!

We’re excited to share that Liberty of Conscience: The Founding of Maryland premieres on Maryland Public Television (MPT) tomorrow, November 15, at 8pm — and part of the documentary was filmed right here at Historic St. Mary’s City. The documentary also features several of our interpreters, helping bring to life the complex story of early Maryland on the very landscape where these events unfolded.

🔍 About the Documentary
Liberty of Conscience explores the early years of what would become Maryland — a place already home to thriving Indigenous communities long before the arrival of European settlers.
The documentary looks at the meeting of these cultures, the conflicts and negotiations that followed, and the evolving ideas about belief, belonging, and governance that shaped this region.
