Volunteers needed for research study
Researchers at Syracuse University are looking for individuals to participate in a study to learn more about the effectiveness of services provided to jobseekers with disabilities.
Your are eligible if you:
Are 18-64 years old
Currently receive SSI or SSDI
Have access to internet via phone, tablet, or computer
Are not currently receiving benefits counseling services
Participation is voluntary
Participation involves
Completing 3 online surveys of 30 minutes each
Being assigned to one of two groups. Activities may differ by group; some participants will take part in additional sessions related to benefits counseling
Participants will receive
A $25 e-gift card for signing up to participate
A $25 e-gift card for each online survey completed

National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM) is celebrated every November to recognize and honor the caregivers who provide care and medical assistance to loved ones:
Supporting aging parents
Raising young children
Caring for loved ones with disabilities
The month is led by the Caregiver Action Network (CAN), a nonprofit that provides free education, peer support, and resources to family caregivers. The 2024 theme is "I Care..." to highlight the importance of self-recognition and self-identity.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of the Olmstead Decision June 22, 1999. Olmstead v. LC is regarded as one of the most important civil rights cases for people with disabilities. Drawing from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Supreme Court held that people with disabilities have a qualified right to live in the community of their choosing and that states must eliminate the unnecessary segregation of persons with disabilities.
