Proud of our namesake and the legacy of Marie Reed!

As an activist, leader, and prominent Washingtonian, Marie Reed left a mark on the Adams Morgan community. Reed led neighborhood improvement initiatives like beautification and food and nutrition campaigns to improve life for all in her community. Her namesake, Marie Reed Elementary School, sits on the site of the Morgan School, which she helped to establish.

DCPS will open following a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17.

In September, the DCPS calendar featured Principal Katie Lundgren, a DCPS parent and school leader at Marie Reed Elementary School. “I love the kids. It’s really rewarding to see them grow and change over the years and become their own people by the time they finish 5th grade.”

Excited to meet our youngest panthers!

The Marie Reed DC SCORES athletes worked hard for the service-learning element of the spring season. They organized a Bake Sale to raise money to help fight homelessness. Proceeds were donated to The National Alliance to End Homelessness.

Los atletas de Marie Reed DC SCORES trabajaron duro en su aprendizaje de servicio esta primavera. Organizaron una venta de pasteles para recaudar fondos y ayudar a combatir la falta de vivienda. Apoyaron a la Alianza Nacional para Acabar la Falta de Vivienda.
