GU European Club The Georgetown University European Club, founded in 2004, welcomes all Hoyas with an interest in all things European.

The European Club, open to ALL students of any background, was founded in 2004 to bring together Europeans, Americans, and anyone who has interest in anything relating to Europe on Georgetown's campus. The club provides a forum for members to share knowledge about ALL European countries and the European Union and to become more familiar with the integration process. Of course, social events - including Embassy events as well as more informal gatherings - are also an important aspect of the club. This club was not created only for Europeans, but for everyone who wants to learn more about Europe and the EU, socialize with both internationals and the internationally-inclined on campus, and most of all, be part of a great campus organization. Follow our updates on this page, Twitter () or Hoyalink (https://hoyalink.georgetown.edu/organization/gueuropeanclub).

Following the protests in Iran that erupted in late December of 2025, the Middle East witnessed a series of escalating events that nearly led to a full-scale war in the region.

Although the Western powers had previously been aligned in their response to Tehran’s policy, the strikes had been reported as surprising by EU officials.

The question thus arises: where can Europe find the leverage to count in international relations? A soon forgotten episode from the war’s earlier developments might provide an answer: drones.
