This month, HUSL held its annual Staff Appreciation Retreat, taking the celebration off campus to Pinstripes for a day of healthy competition, camaraderie, and recognition of the outstanding work accomplished throughout the academic year.

During the staff awards presentation, Brianna Simmons, Student Health and Wellness Coordinator, was awarded as this year’s Outstanding HUSL Staff Member. The Office of Academic Affairs received the Outstanding Teamwork and Creativity Award in recognition of its collaborative spirit, innovation, and commitment to excellence.
Additionally, Ky’Eisha Black, Assistant Director of Student Affairs, received a special token of appreciation for her exceptional service, unwavering dedication to students, and lasting impact on the HUSL community.

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees, and thank you to the entire HUSL staff for your continued commitment to supporting student success and advancing the mission of HUSL! 🎳

On May 8, the Class of 2026 graduated from Howard University School of Law in John H. Burr Gymnasium. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and staff, this year’s graduating class included 175 J.D. graduates and two J.D./MBA graduates. Damon T. Hewitt, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, delivered a powerful keynote, inspiring and encouraging the next generation of social engineers for the work ahead. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Congratulations to Darryl E. Williams, Jr. ‘22 on earning a clerkship with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson for the 2026-2027 Supreme Court term! Darryl will become the second graduate in Howard Law history to clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court and the first in more than 40 years. Darryl’s appointment is a meaningful moment for Howard Law and its legacy of producing lawyers who reach and influence the highest levels of the legal systems. Congratulations, Darryl!
