Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) provides scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among the U.S. Applicants from groups underrepresented in study abroad are given preference, in an effort to make the demographics of US undergraduates studying abroad reflect the rich diversity of the US population. Since 2010, FEA has awarded more than 900 scholarships totaling over $3 million.

Are you passionate about making study abroad more accessible? Join the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) as a scholarship reviewer!

💼 What You’ll Do:
✔️ Review scholarship applications during our two annual cycles (Spring: Sept-Oct; Summer/Fall/AY: Feb-Mar).
✔️ Attend 2 mandatory reviewer trainings to prepare for your role.
✔️ Contribute to our mission by helping identify outstanding applicants from underrepresented communities.
✔️ Spend 3-6 hours per round shaping the future of study abroad!

🎓 Comprehensive Training Provided:
Our virtual sessions and practice reviews will equip you with the tools to evaluate applications fairly and consistently.

🤝 Your time and dedication help us empower students to pursue their dreams abroad. Whether you can review one round or all three, your contribution is invaluable!

On today’s , we’re thrilled to introduce Jolina Obligacion, one of our scholars currently studying abroad in Costa Rica! 🇨🇷✈️

Jolina is a nursing student with a passion for improving healthcare access for Spanish-speaking patients. During her time abroad, she is immersing herself in Tico culture, staying with a local host family, and taking a medical Spanish course to enhance her skills. 💉🩺

Beyond the classroom, Jolina recounts exploring Costa Rica’s stunning landscapes, from ziplining through the Monteverde Cloud Forest to spotting wildlife in national parks. Each experience enriches her understanding of cultural differences and holistic well-being. 🌿🌍

A big thank you to everyone who submitted their Spring ’25 applications by our September 18th deadline! We are currently reviewing over 1,500 applications and you can expect to hear back from us in November! 🤗

If you missed this deadline, don’t worry! You can apply for our Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Academic Year 2025-2026 scholarships. Applications are tentatively set to open on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and close on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM (noon) Eastern. On today’s we’re excited to introduce Alexandria Thomas, one of our Summer ‘24 scholars, who takes us along her 10-day study abroad experience through Italy, Germany, and Switzerland! 🇮🇹🇩🇪🇨🇭

Alexandria is a first-generation college student and LGBTQ+ advocate with a passion for supporting marginalized communities. She dreams of opening a transitional home for felons, offering vital resources to help them successfully reintegrate into society. 🏠💪

Despite encountering various obstacles, each experience deepened Alexandria’s appreciation for cultural differences. Whether navigating Munich or admiring the Swiss Alps and Lake Como, every moment left a lasting impression. Travel isn’t just about new places; it’s about embracing new perspectives. ✈️🌍
