For this week's Alumni Spotlight, we would love to highlight Agustin Oulton! Agustin is being recognized for moving to Barcelona, Spain and starting his own company, VARSITY Sports & Educational Tours. VARSITY Sports & Educational Tours is dedicated to the organization of international athletic and cultural trips for high school and college teams 👏🏼✨

"Last year we were part of the organization of the Madrid World Rugby Sevens Series; this event is organized every year by World Rugby, the international governing body of the game of rugby and held in different cities around the world. Madrid was chosen as home for the 2024 grand final and the Spanish Rugby Federation hired me to be in charge of all the travel logistics of all 32 participating national teams. During the week-long event played at Riyah Air Estadio Metropolitano de Madrid (70,000+ seater), I was in charge of the accommodation of the more than 700 team members and staff, meals, training locations, transportation. and special requests.

We also organize every year international tours for USA Rugby and its under-18 national team. The USA is hosting the rugby world cup in 2031. The Rugby World Cup is the 3rd largest sporting event in the world, behind the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics; 2.5 million people attended the last rugby World Cup in France in 2023. Another VERY special event I participated in, was the overall production of the IGNATIAN RUN, the personal run/pilgrimage of Ariel Laguilles. This runs honors a teacher from Gonzaga High School (DC) who ran across the 408 mile long Ignatian Run in northern Spain in just 8 days, retracing St Ignatius steps. That event derived in another current project called PLAY CAMINO, which features the original idea of sports and cultural pilgrimages along the James Way (also known as Camino de Santiago) and the Ignatian Way.
