The Anthropology Department at CUA offers undergraduate majors and minors in both anthropology and archaeology. On Monday, Prof. Samuels gave the keynote address for the International Visitor Leadership Program’s initiative on "Preserving Cultural Heritage and Combating Trafficking of Conflict Antiquities.” The IVLP is a professional exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State; Prof. Samuels addressed a group of heritage professionals from across the Middle East and North Africa.

At the beginning of this semester, CUA's Anthropology Department officially merged with the History Department as part of a wide-ranging re-organization of the School (now College) of Arts and Sciences. The Anthropology major and minor will continue as before, but under the umbrella of the new Department of History and Anthropology. We're excited about the opportunities this re-organization is providing for both Anthropology faculty and students. However, in recognition of this new structure we will not be posting new Anthropology news on this page; we'll keep it accessible as an archive, but all new Anthropology news and events, like tomorrow's Flannery-Herzfeld talk on the Cultural Heritage of Native America featuring Sam Holley-Kline, will be shared here:
