“I joined EagleTHON because I wanted to help contribute to the betterment of children’s health. My mom is a healthcare worker and through her stories describing the impact being in a hospital has on individuals, I developed a care and understanding of the need to improve the healthcare system. My participation in EagleTHON allows me to directly contribute to CMNHs commitment to providing medical care, research, and resources for children facing health challenges which can create immensely positive change for families.”

Throwback to Last Year’s Main Event!!! Repost photos you have from any EagleTHON main event (and tag us) to get ready for this year’s. Last year’s theme was A Dance for the Decades, and this year’s theme… will be revealed on Monday!
Just shy of 26 weeks into their pregnancy with twin girls in 2015, the Stansbury family’s doctor found absent diastolic flow with baby Leah. Their high-risk pregnancy just became even riskier. With biweekly checks and many scans to check Leah’s (lack of) fluid, movement, and growth, they were lucky to make it just over three weeks before a scan showed Leah’s diastolic flow had reversed. At that point, they had to deliver to give her a fighting chance to survive.
After months in the NICU full of love, fear, excitement, sadness, and the unwavering determination of two small little girls (Leah and Allie), the Stansbury family made their way home thanks to the love, support, dedication, and amazing talent of the nurses, staff, and doctors at Children’s National Hospital. They truly felt they were “given the best care of [their] tiny girl who made it through surgery with flying colors.”
The Stansburys shared that “tiny but mighty” became their slogan for their girls, and they, particularly Leah, still live this motto with everything they do, surpassing every obstacle set in their way.
This year, EagleTHON is hosting a holiday raffle! To participate, please sign up using the Google Form linked in our bio. $1 donation per ticket. We will be announcing the winner on December 8th. This year’s prize is a 5 class pass to Barry’s (a fantastic gym located in DuPont)!
