🎉 Celebrating 8 Years of Service!
Today, we celebrate Lachelle Matthews, Dean of Student Affairs, and eight years of dedicated service to the University of the Potomac!
For Lachelle, the most meaningful part of her journey has always been the students. From the moment they enter the University to the day they complete their academic journey, she has had the opportunity to watch students grow, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals. Being part of that journey has been one of the greatest rewards of her time at Potomac.
Lachelle recognizes that supporting students is a team effort. She shares a special appreciation for her Student Support team - including the Registrar, Student Services, and Advising - and credits their shared passion for student success with making her own work even more rewarding.
“I am grateful to work alongside a team that genuinely cares about our students and works hard every day to support them throughout their journey.”
That spirit of service and leadership is reflected in one of Lachelle’s favorite quotes from Maya Angelou:
“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
For Lachelle, those words reflect how she strives to show up each day—for students, for her team, and for her colleagues—making sure people feel heard, supported, and genuinely cared for. Lachelle, thank you for eight years of leadership, service, and commitment to our students, your team, and the University of the Potomac community. Congratulations on this milestone! 💙🎓
