In Ms. Berry’s math class, our sixth graders have been learning about ratios and rates. They created fluid painting art pieces using their knowledge of ratios and rates by calculating the cost of the materials and how much paint can be used for each painting art piece they wanted to create.
Then, they used their calculated rates to make their fluid painting art pieces. Check out their painting making process and their final products!

Continuing with their unit about the Earth's makeup, Ms. Mansaray's sixth graders completed a webquest about tectonic plates and boundaries. At each website they visited, they collected definitions and examples of terms relating to the unit, like divergent, convergent, and transform boundaries to bring practical knowledge to the concepts they have been studying.

In Ms. Mansaray’s science class, our sixth graders constructed Play-Doh models of the Earth.
By engaging in a hands on project, students were able to cut open their models and could see the green crust, the purple mantle, the red outer core, and the yellow inner core, demonstrating what they have been learning.
