Our founder, Marcus Noel, had the honor of interviewing Booker T. Washington's living descendant. In the interview Marcus explored Washington's forwarding-thinking greatness of how he became the first black power broker, along with his entrepreneurial philosophy. Washington's philosophy created the most black "self-made" millionaires in 1905 more than Princeton, Harvard, and Yale combined. Learn something and share, check out the interview.
'A Man Ahead Of His Time': What Booker T. Washington Understood About Entrepreneurship Booker T. Washington was a man ahead of his time. Happy New Year from the Heart of Man (HoM) team!
2016 was a year of unforgettable moments at Heart of Man. From our Founder, Marcus Noel being honored on the 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, to sharing our program with The White House mentees, to executing our first international program, and launching our first 5-week summer camp, HoM has made major strides to prepare youth for the innovation workforce.
We believe entrepreneurship is the single best way to transform the lives of young people. Most recently, we expanded our team, we grew our digital engagement by 5000%, launched our year-long program at Washington D.C.’s Mckinley Technology High School, and secured seed funding from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation and Camelback Ventures to expand our work.
So What’s Next?
We’re excited to go into 2017 developing our new e-learning platform that will make our innovative entrepreneurship curriculum accessible to students everywhere. Also, we will be expanding our corporate partnerships to support HoM network schools. Stay tuned!
