Our Prepare to Practice Series can also help with tips to transition to researching in the workplace.

New Study Resources!

For the 2020-21 academic year, the library has added a digital subscription to West's collection of study aids, providing access to more than 500 publications from West Academic, Foundation Press and Gilbert. Access includes: Academic success, Acing series, Black letter outlines, Career guides, Concise hornbook series, E-Flash cards, Exam pro series, Law stories series, Gilbert law summaries, High court case summaries, Nutshell series, Sum & substance quick reviews, and Turning point series. New titles are added regularly.

The library has subscribed to the Wolters Kluwer Online Study Aid Library through June 30, 2021. It includes popular study aids like Examples & Explanations. Information about how to access this platform, as well as the West Academic Study Aids platform, are on our Student Resources for Fall 2020 guide (gtownlaw.li/fall2020).

From now until Jan. 26, come up to the 5th Floor Atrium to learn about the Mayflower Compact (signed in 1620!) and its influence on the development of voluntary associations like the NAACP and AFL-CIO in this traveling exhibit. Georgetown Law Remembrance of Justice Ginsburg, September 21, 7pm US Eastern Time.

On Monday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. EDT, Georgetown Law will host a live Facebook event (facebook.com/georgetownlaw) celebrating the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Her biographers, Georgetown Law Professors Mary Hartnett (L’85) and Wendy Williams, will talk about her career. Former clerks, Georgetown Law Professors Dori Bernstein (L’89) and Mitt Regan (L’85), will discuss their experience working in her chambers. Opening Hours - Calendar - Georgetown Law Library 12/02/2019

Starting TODAY, December 2, and running through December 21, the library will be open 24 HOURS, with normal reference and circulation service hours and restricted access to non-Georgetown users and Public Patrons and Friends of the Library.

Law Library hours for Thanksgiving week:
November 25 and 26: Library open with regular hours and service offerings.

November 27: Reference desk services will close at 1 p.m., the circulation desk will close at 4:45 p.m., and the building will close at 5 p.m.

November 28: Library will be closed entirely

November 29: Circulation desk will be open on a limited schedule, but reference will not be available.

November 30: Library will reopen with normal hours and services offered.

The Library Research Services department welcomes a new Empirical Research Fellow, Alex Billy, who will be joining the library on September 2 for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Alex is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Georgetown University, and holds a B.S. from Saint Vincent College and an M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University. Alex has also served as a research assistant for Professor Neel Sukhatme and provided support in synthesizing data and conducting field experiments. Alex will be available to assist you with your projects and is scheduled to work for 15 hours a week in the Library. He will work with our team in Legal Research Services generally, and some of the more specialized assistance his position can offer includes identifying the correct empirical design for research projects, scraping publicly available data, data cleaning, technical writing of research papers, and executing analyses in code.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to Professor Sukhatme for his critical guidance and recommendations throughout the entire hiring process.
