Strategic Crisis Simulations (SCS) is a student organization focused on educating young professional

Strategic Crisis Simulations offers students a chance to learn about real challenges of policymaking, crisis management and national security leadership through the use of simulations. We design, write, and run free, high-quality, and meticulously researched political-military simulations. These tools are used by academia, government, and the armed forces to help prepare members of those communities to face the changing and complex conditions present in our world today.

Join us for our annual United States vs. China simulation with a green team twist! This year's Rising Tides will focus on the South China Sea and the implications of contested oil rights between China and the Philippines. When a Philippine National Oil Company ship is seized by what appears to be Chinese fishermen, tensions run high in the region with potentially disastrous consequences.

Rising Tides will take place on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST in GWU's Elliott School of International Affairs (1957 E St. NW). Sign up to participate at go.gwu.edu/risingtides2022.

This year's Rising Tides is co-sponsored by the US-China Strategic Studies Organization (USCSSO), a GW student-run organization dedicated to studying US-China strategic competition from an objective and nonpartisan perspective.

Join SCS for our last simulation in 2021 hosted in partnership with NATO Allied Command Transformation on Saturday, December 4th from 10:30AM to 5PM. In this simulation, participants will play the roles of diplomatic and defense attachés from all 30 member states of NATO. They will address a plethora of concerns escalated by rivaling military powers and must maintain security amidst a series of complex international incidents.
