One of the many treasures of the Library of Congress.
In March 1933, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt began holding special press conferences exclusively for women reporters, giving them access to important news stories, ensuring that they could compete for journalism jobs, and encouraging reporting on topics overlooked by male colleagues.
The Library's Manuscript Division has several collections related to these women, and just added another: The papers of Ann Cottrell Free. http://go.loc.gov/yssm50LTRus
