Each , we honor the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in pursuit of freedom and democracy. The American values they fought for inspires the mission of the McCain Institute, and we thank their service over self.

We extend our condolences to the McCain family following the passing of Douglas “Doug” Shepp McCain, the eldest son of John McCain. A Navy pilot like his father, Doug will be remembered as a patriot and friend to the many alumni of Sen. McCain’s Institute, campaigns & Senate staff.

Congratulations to the 2026 graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy. It is ranked as “the noblest endeavors of humankind,” said Sen. McCain, a 1958 graduate of the academy, during his 1993 Naval Academy commencement address.
