April is Food Waste Prevention Month, and April 29th is Stop Food Waste Day, a call to action to reduce food waste and its impact.

According to the Stop Food Waste Day campaign:
- 33% of all food produced globally is lost or wasted every year🗑️
- The average American family wastes about $1,866 annually on food💰
- Food loss and waste account for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions🌎

We’re sharing 3 simple ways to cut down on food waste at home: store food more effectively, make a plan to eat leftovers, and grocery shop with intention.

Want to diver deeper? Check out the 2026 U.S. Food Waste Report by ReFED through the 🔗 in our bio and visit to learn about the RECIPES Wasted Food project that AU has been a part of.
