Our Littlest Owls Are Ready to Take Flight!

Today was an extra special day as we welcomed our Pre-K students for their very first day of school!! 🩵💛

From big smiles and tiny backpacks to new friendships and exciting discoveries, our youngest scholars officially began their Meridian journey. We are so excited to watch them learn, grow, explore, and soar throughout the year!

Welcome back to a brand new school year at Meridian Public Charter School! Whether you're a returning Meridian family or joining us for the first time, we're so excited to have you as part of our community.

This year is full of promise, and our teachers and staff have been hard at work preparing to make it a great one. Here's to new friendships, new discoveries, and another year of growth together.

The countdown is on! Here’s a list of things to do this weekend to get ready and prepared for our big day together on Monday ❤️:

🛌 Get back onto a regular sleep schedule
⏰ Practice waking up early
🌟 Pick out those first-day outfits
🎒 Gather school supplies and pack backpacks
🏷️ Label backpacks, lunch boxes, and folders with your scholar's name
🚗 Confirm your drop-off and pick-up plan
🗺️ Review the first-day schedule and campus location
💬 Talk with your scholar about what to expect on day one
📸 Set aside your camera for that first-day photo!

A little prep this weekend makes Monday morning smooth and exciting. We are so excited to see everyone on day one!

We had a great time seeing so many of you at our Back to School BBQ last week! Thank you to all who came out and made the day a success. We love this community, and it gives us so much joy seeing everyone outside making memories together. We’ll see you all on Monday, bright and early!

📅 Wednesday, 8/26: First Day, Pre-K

👕 Dress code: Attire that is comfortable, respectful, suitable and safe.

We are incredibly grateful to each of you for helping make Meridian’s 2026 Back-to-School Barbecue such a joyful and memorable experience for our students and families.

Your time, energy, generosity, and willingness to serve our community made all the difference. Whether you helped with planning, setup, activities, food, resources, welcoming families, or the many details behind the scenes, your contribution mattered!

What made the day special wasn’t simply the event itself it was the spirit of community that surrounded it. Our students and families were able to laugh, connect, celebrate, and begin the new school year feeling welcomed and supported because so many people came together on their behalf.

What an incredible way to kick off a new school year! 🎉

A HUGE thank you to all of our Meridian families, students, staff and partners who joined us for our 2026 Back to School BBQ! From the smiles and laughter to the food, music, activities, and community connections, you helped make the day truly special.

We also want to give a special shout-out to our vendors, community partners, volunteers, staff and everyone behind the scenes who helped make the celebration festive, exciting, and welcoming for our Meridian community. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌🏽
