Now that the school year is almost to a close. Join us and enroll in our annual summer day-camp GAEC's Summer Review. This day camp is open daily from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm daily June 26th- July 28. Since COVID19 has limited many of our youths interactions and maturity, we will continue our Life Skills Lessons and enjoy many activities surrounding this year's theme: "Under the Sea." Our campers engage in arts and crafts, swimming, museum visits, touring the National Mall, exploring the National Zoo, lunch outings, and much more... REGISTER TODAY! Spaces are limited.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Gifted Academy Educational Center is searching for a reliable and trustworthy volunteer to join our organization. The volunteer’s responsibilities include completing tasks assigned by the supervisor, upholding the organization’s values, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism with all stakeholders.

You should arrive on time, follow instructions, and improve the overall operations of the organization.

To be successful as a volunteer, you should demonstrate active listening and problem-solving skills.

Outstanding volunteers should be diligent, meticulous, and take pride in their work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Understanding your role and responsibilities as well as the rules and safety regulations of the organization.

Completing the relevant training and asking questions if you are uncertain about anything.

Completing all duties assigned by the supervisor and reporting any issues immediately.

Observing the rules and safety regulations of the organization while carrying out tasks.

Arriving on time for duty and remaining professional in your interactions with all stakeholders.

Making recommendations for improvement where feasible and appropriate.

Delivering presentations or reports if necessary.

Communicating with the supervisor or relevant stakeholders when you are running late or unable to fulfill your duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

A willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

A high degree of professionalism and the ability to follow instructions.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position focuses on aiding our center as a learning institution, while highschool juniors and seniors earn community service hours and college students acquire internship credit, working primarily with GAEC scholars in ways that reinforce scholarship, learning, as well as teach them new concepts.

You are to fulfill whatever task(s) is needed at the time.

QUALIFICATIONS

The participant should have a desire to one day want to work with kids professionally.

Must be at least an active highschool junior (11th grader).

Good communication skills and ability to convey intelligence and etiquette are expected to interact with parents and visitors of varying ages and backgrounds.

Moderate physical activity is to be expected.

This position requires handling of average-weight objects up to 35 Ibs and/or standing and/or walking on average of four hours per day.
