What are their plans for the future? Who are their competitors? Where are they located? Don't forget the company's website is a good source of information too.

Having an understanding of employers can help you determine if their positions are aligned with your career goals, and enable you to tailor your application materials. Also, learn how to set yourself apart from other candidates during an interview.
