She sometimes runs-commutes home from work and tries to bike the other days. Sarah has run 6 marathons and 60 or 70 half marathons and other races and has hand-fed a rhinoceros, giraffe, penguin, otter, sea lion, and beluga whale. When not working, she loves hanging out with her dog, Ellie, and partner, Sam, in Hyattsville, MD, and planning new travel adventures.

’s Mia, our Administrative Coordinator! Mia moved to DC in August 2023 to work at Elliott and pursue her Master’s in International Education at GWU’s GSEHD. She previously worked as an English Teacher in Daegu, South Korea.

Mia originally comes from the Sunshine State, in line with her outgoing personality. Mia loves exploring the city with friends, cuddling with her adorable Lab Penny, and eating delicious meals she can’t afford! She *loosely* speaks four languages: English, Swedish, Spanish, and Korean. Mia previously lived abroad as a high school exchange student in Sweden and an Au Pair in Spain, visiting 23 countries so far. She’s hoping to take up new hobbies, such as Volvo kickball on the National Mall and beginner sewing. If you see her around the office, don’t be scared to strike up a conversation, otherwise, she likely will!
