Last Friday marked one of the year’s highlights for the St. Patrick’s community - the annual Grade 6 Cake Raffle 🍰🧁! We are proud to announce that this year’s Raffle raised over $15,000 to benefit our partnership with . Thank you to our Grade 6 students and their families, the St. Patrick’s Parents Association, our wonderful Grade 6 faculty & staff, and the broader Day School community for making this joyful event such a success! St. Patrick’s was so excited to host the 3rd Annual Horizons Geography Bee to raise awareness and support for ! In addition to the Day School, the regional Horizons Greater Washington nonprofit organization is comprised of and , whose teams also competed in today’s Geo Bee.

We were so impressed by all three teams, who answered difficult questions ranging from “What are the three capitals of South Africa?” (Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Pretoria 🇿🇦) to “Portuguese is spoken in how many African countries?” (6!)

Congratulations to for clinching first place in the 2024 Horizons Geography Bee, and thank you to the Horizons Parents Council from each partner school for organizing such an awesome event!

A special congratulations goes to the Day School’s Boys JV basketball team, who secured the Capital Athletic Conference championship (for the second year in a row!! 👏), and the Girls and Boys Varsity basketball teams, who both earned championship victories at the end-of-season tournament.

A special congratulations goes to our three finalists, Lillie C (‘24), Zoe D. (‘25), and Curtis B.
