Car seats don’t expire because companies want you to buy more seats ‼️
How long until your car seat expires? I love a ten year expiration because, well, easy math!
My oldest child is 7 and so far two car seats I got when he was a baby have expired. Some have a year left! (And others 3 years!)

Hitting a curb in the drive-through is not the same as vehicle crash forces. Your car seat is designed for everyday road use like hitting a pothole, backing into a garbage can, a rogue grocery cart hitting your parked car, or love-tapping a curb. If you have a question about what constitutes a crash, reach out to your car seat manufacturer.
Car seats have very individualized cleaning instructions. Those are found in your manual, the manufacturers website FAQ page or via a 1:1 convo with your manufacturer’s customer service. If your seat is ever cleaned in a method that exceeds the recommended process, call ☎️ your manufacturer and ask them about it. Some seats can be hosed down, but there’s more to it than that.
✈️ flying with kids can be a lot. If you’re not able to fly with their car seats installed on the plane, bringing them along or having a family member (remember to) bring them to the airport is a good choice too. Car seats at rental car places are actual nightmare fuel. Missing pieces, broken pieces, wrong type/size seat…
One SlimFit Graco seat is ultra-narrow and the rest are not. If you want the narrow one, quadruple check what you’re purchasing. If I had a $1 for every DM about this, I could fund a family vacation to Disney. I don’t name the seats, but I wish I did!
