The Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Assistant (UTLA) program empowers high-achieving GW Engineering students to support their peers through in-class assistance, office hours, review sessions, and small-group tutoring.

UTLA students play a vital role in strengthening the academic experience across GW Engineering, helping fellow students build confidence and succeed in challenging coursework, while also developing their own communication, leadership, and teaching skills.

Your support helps sustain and expand this impactful program, ensuring more students have access to peer-led learning and mentorship.

This Giving Day, consider making a gift to support the UTLA Program and invest in student success at every level.

Meet Maddie Wilson, a junior studying Engineering Management and Systems Engineering. This year, she’s taken her GW experience to new heights by building real-world skills on the GW Rocket Team and supporting first‑year students through the SEAS Student Peer Advisory Network, or SEASSPAN, where she’s formed meaningful friendships.

Thanks to donor support, Maddie has had opportunities she never imagined possible, from hands-on engineering projects to leadership experiences that are shaping her future. Every gift, no matter the amount, opens doors for students like Maddie to take a leap, try something new, and approach every challenge with confidence.

This Giving Day, please consider supporting the Engineering Student Success Fund, which fuels the teams, programs, and experiences that make GW Engineering such a vibrant place to learn and grow.
