Hello everyone! Thank you so much to those who have already supported us with donations and apparel purchases. Today we’d like to share a document we’ve compiled for you that goes more in-depth into the definition of child abuse and its effects, ways to report it, things to watch out for, and resources to access. We hope that you find it useful and that it jumpstarts your own journey of educating yourself on child abuse prevention. You can access it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JFWs10OP19KUy8KBwLlTfkU682e4gY9GFYUz74EQjk4/edit?usp=sharing. Have a great day!

KAPPA DELTA SHAMROCK 2021 Custom Ink Fundraising 10/13/2021

Hello everyone,

Today marks the first day of Shamrock Week for Kappa Delta here at the George Washington University! Shamrock Week is the annual fundraising period where our chapter works to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America, our national philanthropy, and Safe Shores, our local beneficiary. Hundreds of thousands of children are affected by child maltreatment and abuse every year. The sisters of Kappa Delta are motivated to do what they can to bring that number down, and we hope that you can partner with us in this endeavor.

You can help through donations, apparel purchases, talking to people about what you’re doing to prevent child abuse, or reaching out to sisters for support during this week! We will also follow up with resource guides, a Bingo Board challenge that you can post on your social media or fill out yourself, and updates on how things are going! We want to thank you in advance for any form of support you’re able to give!

P.S. Given GW’s, Kappa Delta’s, and the District of Columbia’s COVID-19 policies, we decided to restrict event access to people within our immediate GW campus community. While we understand that things are returning to normal, we find this decision to be the best fit for members’ safety and maximizing their ability to continue attending classes (as they have to quarantine if they contract COVID). We hope you understand and still choose to support us virtually this Shamrock!

Hello everyone! Today our sisters are virtually raising money for our Spring fundraiser. Here's the bingo board we've made, and some of us are even doing small challenges for certain amounts of money (so head over to Instagram if you have them on social media)! Any proceeds we raise go to PCAA and Safe Shores DC. These organizations do very critical work in an effort to fight child abuse. They provide prevention training, victim support, and education on this issue. If you would like to donate, venmo , or if another method is easier for you, reach out and we'd happily work with you to figure it out. We are all very proud to support this incredible cause, and we appreciate all your help. Have a wonderful day!!

We understand that actions are much more powerful than words in fighting racial injustices. We hope to inspire action not only within our sisterhood, but within the Greek community as a whole, which is why we are strongly encouraging other organizations in our Greek community to commit to the same level of action. We encourage everyone, even if you are not involved in Greek life to donate, educate yourself, and spread awareness.
