KASC 19 finished things off in Washington, DC! 🇺🇸🇰🇷

The final stop of KASC 19 took us from KEI and Samsung Electronics America to the State Department and a panel at The Asia Group. We walked the Korean War Veterans Memorial alongside CKA's Emerging Leaders Fellowship, explored the Smithsonian, and dug into sports diplomacy and civil nuclear cooperation at the Korea Foundation and the Transpacific Future Center. Then came the moment the whole conference built toward: roundtables presented their research at the Final Forum, followed by one last celebration dinner together in Chinatown.

Highlights from our time in DC:

🏛️ Six-Party Talks diplomatic simulation at the Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI)
💼 Visiting Samsung Electronics America to learn about career paths and corporate strategy
🌐 Receiving a briefing on U.S.-Korea relations at the U.S. Department of State
🤝 Hearing from the Korea Team at The Asia Group in a panel and networking with them afterwards

New Orleans, you were unforgettable. 🎷 We can't believe it's been over a month since KASC 19 visited.

KASC 19's second site took us from the National WWII Museum to the Historic New Orleans Collection and the Jazz Museum, tracing the city's layered history and culture. We shared a joint talk with the Korea West interns working at NAJAS on trilateral relations and international exchange, and presented the progress of our roundtable research at the Midpoint Forum. We closed the week around a table with a Korean War veteran, hearing his story firsthand thanks to the Louisiana Korea War Veterans Association.

Grateful to everyone who made it happen and to the delegates who brought so much curiosity and heart to every conversation.

ChASC 6 concluded its journey in Beijing—our final city and a full-circle ending to an unforgettable conference! By beginning and ending in the capitals of the United States and China, delegates analyzed firsthand the institutions, histories, and perspectives that shape both countries and their relationship. Delegates were able to explore the history, diplomacy, and innovation shaping China’s capital through:

🏯 Stepping into centuries of Chinese history at the Forbidden City
🤖 Exploring emerging technology at the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center
🎓 Connecting with students and tech scholars at Renmin University
🌏 Learning about diplomacy through visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Embassy in Beijing
🎤 Sharing ideas, reflections, and recommendations at the ChASC 6 Final Forum

From Washington, D.C., to Beijing, ChASC 6 brought the conference’s central themes full circle. Although our travels have ended, the perspectives gained, friendships formed, and conversations started will continue far beyond the conference.

Our thoughts are with everyone in Kumamoto and those affected by the earthquake. Last summer, Kumamoto welcomed the JASC 77 delegation and we experienced the warmth of 34 families in Amakusa who opened their homes to us. It is those families and the entire community we think of today as rescue teams search for survivors and the international community mobilizes to provide support.

Join us as we celebrate the culmination of the 78th Japan-America Student Conference! For three weeks, JASC delegates will have traveled together through San Francisco, Nashville, and Washington, D.C. — studying, leading, and building the next generation of U.S.-Japan relations.

Since 1934, JASC has brought together university students from Japan and the U.S. for a student-led exchange unlike any other. Now it's time to see what they've built.

✨ At the Final Forum, delegates will present original research across 7 roundtable themes — from International Politics and Innovation to Arts, Health, Media, and more.

🎤 The Forum will also feature video remarks from Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, and keynote speeches by Ms. Teruko Wada (Executive Director, Keidanren USA) and Amb. Daniel Kritenbrink (Partner, The Asia Group) .

Join us on August 11, 2026, for the culminating event of the 19th Korea-America Student Conference (KASC), a student-led academic and cultural exchange program bringing together an equal number of university students from South Korea and the United States.

This summer, KASC 19 delegates journeyed together through San Francisco, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C., exploring the many dimensions of the U.S.–Korea relationship. At the Final Forum, students will present the culmination of their research through four roundtable themes:
⭐️ Cultural Diplomacy, Art, Media, and Soft Power
⭐️ Navigating Interdependence in International Business & Economics
⭐️ Powering Tomorrow: Energy Policy and Nuclear Cooperation
