The BreakLine energy was on full display in DC yesterday.
We kicked things off with Coach leading BreakLine Run Club. Nobody hit a PR, and people may have been laughing harder than they were running, but the sense of community grew stronger with every mile, and that energy carried straight into a well-earned Happy Hour.
This is the magic of BreakLine: a community that shows up for each other - in careers, in transitions, and sometimes just for a good run and a great conversation.
Every mile, every introduction, every shared story strengthens the network.
Grateful for this tribe. Let’s keep running (and Happy Hour-ing). 🏃🍻

Let. It. Rip. 🚀🇺🇸We are in beautiful San Diego for our annual, company-wide offsite to launch . As the BreakLine Avengers assemble, we’re gearing up for a week of strategy and stretching with two goals in mind:
Clarity - 100% alignment on BreakLine’s vision, mission, and strategy.
Connection - Topping off our canteens together. Celebrating promotions, outcomes, and the humans that power our mission.
Always one foot on the starting line.
Stay classy, BreakLine! ☀️

Join a team where the company’s growth never puts a ceiling on yours. 🚀🇺🇸
That principle sits at the core of the BreakLine curriculum—and at the center of how we think about rebuilding hiring in America.
It came up recently in a conversation between our teammate Alexandra Downey and BreakLiner Tanmay Deshmukh, who just joined Neon | AI-powered patient access, a rocketship startup transforming patient access in healthcare.
Tanmay’s track record as a builder is unmistakable:
⚫ Built a mobile application enabling users to control vehicle systems wirelessly
⚫ Developed AI automation systems using React, TypeScript, Vite, Express.js, and Gemini
⚫ Took a zero-to-one AI-powered Design & Validation Planning system (xDVP) live—automating one of the most complex and error-prone parts of automotive engineering: test planning and traceability
All of this while working full-time and completing a B.S. in Computer Science.
That’s not pedigree.
That’s ex*****on.
And it’s exactly the kind of signal high-impact companies should be optimizing for.
Alongside top performers like Tanmay—and visionary leaders like Stedman, Harry, Kyle, and the Neon Health team—we’re rebuilding hiring from first principles by aligning incentives, signal, and trust between elite talent and mission-driven companies.
This is how you accelerate the American dream:
Put capable people in positions to do meaningful work, and get out of their way.
Cheers to the impact you’ll create together. 🥂

“...Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” – George Bernard Shaw
At BreakLine, we see this every day:
The unreasonable ones build. They push. They bet on the future before anyone else can see it.
And companies that attract them don’t just grow — they accelerate progress for the entire country. 🚀🇺🇸
One of those people is Carl McKay.
When Carl joined the BreakLine Community, he was exploring a wide range of roles. His credentials were exceptional: Deputy Director at Naval Reactors, led a $15B program for the Navy’s next-gen attack submarine, MIT Sloan MBA, Secret clearance, elite operator.
But credentials weren’t the question.
Clarity was.
Our core methodology starts with one question:
👉🏾 “What are you optimizing for?”
Carl and the BreakLine team (shoutout Kimberly Slade ) evaluated multiple opportunities.
The clarity came gradually — then decisively.
Carl joined Blue Water Autonomy Inc. as a Business Development & Strategy Lead.
Blue Water recently raised $50M Series A to build long-range autonomous warships for the U.S. Navy. For someone who has spent years shaping the Navy’s most advanced undersea programs, this role isn’t just another job — it’s the next chapter of impact.
Carl — congratulations on choosing what you were truly optimizing for. Blue Water gains someone who doesn’t just understand naval technology — he has helped define it.
We can’t wait to see what you build next. 🌊⚓

Some journeys take you right back where you started — only this time, you're leading the way forward. 🌾
Heath Sinn is headed home to Ames, Iowa, to join as Senior Director of Operations — and this one hits different.
After nearly 20 years leading operations teams across the country, Heath and his wife visited Ames in February and just knew. This wasn't just about a role. It was about roots, purpose, and a company investing deeply in the community that Heath loves.
"It's a transformation. This is exactly where I want to spend the next phase of my career."
Welcome home, Heath. We're so happy for you. ✨

Big news, BreakLine! 🎉
Please join us in celebrating Matthew Escobar, who has just joined Gallatin as a Front End Engineer!
This milestone marks more than a new role — it’s the first time a BreakLiner has joined the Gallatin team, a fast-growing startup redefining defense technology and predictive logistics.
After earning his Computer Science degree from UT Austin, Matthew spent the last two years at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, developing full-stack systems for defense-focused projects and leading independent R&D efforts like a wireless device geolocation tool.
Matthew was drawn to Gallatin’s mission-driven approach and the opportunity to contribute to next-generation defense solutions. As a Texas native, this move also brings him closer to home and the community that first shaped his drive to build.
We’re so proud to have connected Matthew with this opportunity, and we can’t wait to see what he and the Gallatin team create together.
Congratulations, Matthew — and cheers to our growing partnership with Gallatin! 🚀
