Stokes School is proud to share that, after 25 years of operation, our charter was reviewed and renewed by the DC Public Charter School Board!
In the words of Executive Director, Erika Bryant, "we look forward to continuing the work of educating children for 25 more years and beyond."

Please give it up for our East End Campus spelling champs! Sloane (3S), Brenton (4S), and Carrington (4S). They will compete in the DC cluster bee this Thursday, before potentially advancing to the citywide Bee.

All of our spellers showed dedication and focus, and they deserve kudos! Appreciation also goes out to Eboni-Rose Thompson, Ward 7’s representative to the SBOE, who served as our school bee pronouncer.

Kelly Flores – Kindergarten Spanish Teacher – Brookland Campus
Kelly Flores has worked at Stokes School in a number of roles before blossoming as the English teacher in our kindergarten Spanish class. Ms. Kelly’s colleagues and supervisors describe her as a teacher who is diligent and always prepared. Families of her students recognize Ms. Kelly for finding the joy in every student and building up scholars’ weaker areas while always celebrating their strengths.

Pape Demba Kane, generally known as Mr. PDK, joined the Stokes School community in 2018. As Stokes School’s East End Campus has grown, Mr. PDK has grown with us, moving between grades to continue to meet the needs of his students. Mr. PDK inspires his students every day with his creativity and his own thirst for knowledge!
