On June 19th 1865, enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, learned that the Emancipation Proclamation had freed them from slavery.

Juneteenth, now a Federally recognized Holiday, is a celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States as well as a celebration of African American history and culture.

To commemorate Juneteenth, support your favorite Black Owned Businesses by spreading the word or showing monetary support.

92 years ago today, Lola Mercedes Parker founded Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., the first African American Greek-lettered business sorority established by African American business women, in Chicago, Illinois.
