Trivia at Purple Patch

Hello trivia friends past and present (and future?),

We're very sad to announce the end of Trivia at Purple Patch. Shaagnik is starting grad school at NYU in a couple of weeks, and we really wanted to have one or two sendoff sessions, but we ran out of time in the chaos of moving. We both really enjoyed the years of trivia, especially Shaagnik, who created and originated the event! We'll leave this page active in case anyone ever picks up the mantle. Feel free to leave your favorite trivia fact or memory below! Marina's favorite trivia fact is that it takes 90 minutes to hard boil an ostrich egg.

Hi everyone! We have decided to put trivia on pause until we can go back in person - we know everyone is itching to be out and about in the nice weather and Facebook Live just doesn't have the same appeal anymore :) We're hopeful that we can go back in the next couple months, and we will keep you posted! We hope to see you soon!

We WILL be having trivia tonight but are instituting a new policy so read on: we will still plan to have trivia every other Monday, but we are going to ask teams who plan to come to message us telling us this by 6pm the day of trivia. No trivia tonight! To tide you over, here's a fun fact: did you know snake oil was an ACTUAL thing that had medicinal properties, made by boiling a Chinese water snake? The term "snake oil salesman" for someone selling something fake came to be in use because of people selling FAKE snake oil. Wow!
