UPDATE TO THE PRACTICUM!

GWSPH is transitioning to Handshake as the online Practicum tracking system. Any student who begins their Practicum on or after Monday, May 22nd will submit their Practicum documentation through Handshake. Please contact your Department Practice Teams if you have any questions.

The Public Health Student Association (PHSA) wants to showcase the work that students are doing in public health during National Public Health Week (NPHW), April 3-9!

Any GWSPH student (Undergraduates, MPH, MHA, PhD, DrPH, etc.) can submit a poster that will be on display in Milken. You can submit your poster as an individual or with a group. This can be a project that was completed for class that you're excited to share, your practicum project, findings from research/CE, or a program/project that you have been working on in your job or internship. While unnecessary, you may align your poster with one of our NPHW themes if you would like to:

Community (Monday)
Violence Prevention (Tuesday)
Reproductive and Sexual Health (Wednesday)
Mental Health (Thursday)
Rural Health (Friday)
Accessibility (Saturday)
Food and Nutrition (Sunday)

Please complete this form no later than March 10, 2023. Contact [email protected] with any questions. After completing this form, you will receive more details regarding specific sizing and formatting requirements. PHSA will handle all poster printing. We can't wait to see your work!

A special message from Dean Hyder on why he gives to the I Heart GW SPH Campaign!

A HUGE thank you to Dean Hyder for his extremely generous contributions towards supporting our students during our I Heart GWSPH Campaign! Dean Hyder kindly matched the student donations that were made over the past 2 weeks and has fulfilled his pledge! We are so grateful for the kindness of those within our GWSPH community who have donated to the Capital Connection Fund thus far. Through the CCF, students will be awarded with opportunities to partake in off-campus research and development activities. There are still 5 days left to donate! It's not too late to take part in The 8th annual I Heart GW Public Health Campaign, a students-for-students fundraiser to support the Capital Connection Fund. PHSA invites our Milken family to support SPH students experiencing financial hardship in regards to funding off-campus research and professional development activities.
