Bringing literature to life on canvas. Painting parties inspired by award-winning literature for children. In partnership with Africa Access, ages 6 & up.
Students are introduced to CABA (Children's Africana Book Award) Winners and the Pura Belpre Award Winners of 2014-15 and other books used in classrooms and homeschooling settings. After a literature-based activity, students paint original works of art with step-by-step instructions. Students enjoy music, laughter and art while learning how the world of writing and visual art can turn self-expression into a career path.
