TESOL International Association, National Geographic, and the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) have joined forces to create Empowering Newcomers: Engaging Strategies to Build Academic Language and Skills, an online community that offers practical strategies and expert insights to support newcomer multilingual learners at both the elementary and secondary levels!
This online community will meet between April and June for five live webinars and lots of asynchronous discussions. Participants will explore game-based learning, schema development, oral language enhancement, and targeted literacy techniques to create engaging and effective learning environments.
