Hello feminist scholars! My undergraduate research assistant hopes to study human s*xuality in graduate school. I'm curious: does anyone know of summer research assistantships or internships specifically focused on feminist approaches to studying human s*xuality? (Akin to the REU internships?) Thank you!

***Call for Papers: Public Psychology: Cultivating Socially Engaged Science for the 21st Century***

American Psychologist invites submissions for a special issue on psychology’s role in social transformation, including research, advocacy, and practice that foregrounds psychologists’ roles as agents of positive social change.

The goal of this special issue is to animate scholarly reflection on the theory and practice of "public psychology." If the "citizen psychologist" initiative encouraged psychologists to re-imagine their individual responsibilities to pursue the public good, public psychology suggests a paradigmatic shift in how psychologists cultivate the relationship(s) between science and society.

The aim of this issue is to provoke, analyze, and explore the shape and content of public psychology as an emergent framework for imagining psychology otherwise, and for opening creative spaces for charting the future of the discipline with a renewed commitment to the promotion of justice, health, and equity across registers of social life.

Important Dates
-- 2-page abstract due: May 1, 2020
-- Invitation to submit a full-length manuscript will be sent: June 1, 2020
-- Deadline for manuscript submission based on approved abstracts: September 1, 2020

Hey, all! Are you interested in social justice? Are you interested in using your unique skills to combat a global epidemic? Have you been looking to do service work? The global refugee crisis is at an all-time high and humanitarian aid workers are struggling to keep up. My team and I started a nonprofit called Huddl (in association with the University of Southern California) in order to combat the declining mental health of these volunteers. We are looking for psychologists interested in social justice to help us test our beta platform. This will only take 2 hours of your time (1 hour/week for 2 weeks) and will help us immensely improve our platform so that it is at its best at launch. As we say at Huddl, help us help others.

A few thoughts on pregnancy and body image today! I know that many people actually have really positive body image experiences during pregnancy. I am so happy for them (genuinely!), but that was not my experience and is not the experience of many 💜
