ADF President Miguel Reyes and ADF President Emeritus Ryan Makings recently met with RTCA leadership at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. to reinforce our enduring collaboration and discuss major initiatives shaping the future of the aviation industry.

For decades, ADF and RTCA have worked together to help develop critical industry frameworks and standards, ensuring that dispatchers have a seat at the table as regulations evolve and the National Airspace System advances.

As the National Airspace System continues to evolve toward implementing higher automation, it is more important than ever that operational control and flight operations expertise remain at the forefront of the conversation. Dispatcher involvement helps ensure that new technologies, standards, and procedures reflect the realities of daily airline operations while supporting the continued safety and efficiency of the system.

We appreciate RTCA’s continued partnership and look forward to expanding opportunities for ADF members to engage in this important work.

to our fan-favorite panel from last year’s ADF Summit!

We are pleased to announce that we will be bringing back the Dispatcher Pilot ATC panel by popular demand! Your favorite panelists, Marcus Miller (Prophatcat) and Angel Andres Rosado, will return to the stage as the ATC and Pilot speakers. Greg McCutcheon will step into the spotlight and perform the instrumental role of the Dispatcher speaker. With their combined expertise, humor, and wit, we promise, this is NOT a panel you want to miss!

Tickets are currently $100 for ADF members and $200 for non-ADF members until August 31st. What are you waiting for? Register today!

On August 6th, the North Texas Job Fair, sponsored by Texas Representative Beth Van Duyne (TX-24), was held at Globe Life Field. There were over 650 vendors and approximately 35,000 attendees. Your ADF Veterans’ Outreach Committee attended the event. Committee Chairman Ken Cunningham (AA), Vice Chairman John Sargent (AA), and longtime ADF member Ana Prakash (AA) were there to share how the ADF lobbies for dispatchers and to promote dispatching as a career option. We handed out ADF swag and information on PART 65 dispatch schools in the DFW area, as well as information about other Part 65 schools in the United States.

The purpose of the Veterans Outreach Committee is to attend job fairs for our Veterans transitioning back into the civilian workforce. We have made many contacts at military bases, posts, forts, and ports. Because these events are held across the United States, we need ADF Veterans to be part of this committee. If you are interested, please contact your ADF Delegate, who can then contact the Veterans Outreach Committee so you can join the Outreach Team.

Safety in the National Airspace System relies on the shared efforts of Aircraft Dispatchers, Pilots, and Air Traffic Controllers.

Among the many regulatory duties entrusted to Aircraft Dispatchers, delaying, holding, and rerouting a flight are some of the many ways we keep our crews and passengers safe. Delaying a departure is not an operational failure, but a necessary safety decision made to manage airspace constraints and keep aircraft clear of hazardous weather.

We stand firmly alongside Air Traffic Controllers as we manage complex airspace and severe weather conditions together. Dispatchers take pride in fulfilling our legal mandates and maintaining the standard of safety our crews and passengers expect and depend on every day.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

Aviation policy is shaped by those who participate. Join fellow cargo pilots in urging Congress to end the cargo carve-out and support one level of safety for all airline operations.

The Independent Pilots Association is asking the aviation community to support the Safe Skies Act, legislation that would eliminate the long-standing exemption allowing cargo airlines to operate outside the FAA's Part 117 pilot fatigue rules. Cargo and passenger pilots operate in the same airspace, under the same conditions, and should be protected by one consistent standard of safety. We encourage aviation professionals and members of the public to visit the IPA's public advocacy website, where you can quickly and easily contact your U.S. Representative in support of this bipartisan effort.
