We had the pleasure of welcoming Erin Gruwell, educator, author, and social justice advocate, to campus this week!

Erin is the author of The Freedom Writers Diary, which inspired the film Freedom Writers. A longtime advocate and changemaker in education, Erin is committed to empowering students to express themselves, share their stories, and recognize the power of their own voices.

During her visit, MSSD students and Student Body Government members led Erin on a tour of campus, sharing their experiences and perspectives and highlighting what makes our community special.
