🎉 Congratulations to Trish Peyser Perlmutter '81, recipient of a 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award!

As a civil rights lawyer and Associate Director at New Jersey's Division of Civil Rights, she champions fairness in the legal system.

Trish’s journey is remarkable — from clerking for a U.S. District Judge to winning landmark reforms in mental health care. Her career has focused on holding institutions accountable, fighting bias and discrimination, and teaching community members about their rights.

Proudly honoring her lifelong commitment to making our world better! 🗺️

This year marks the five-year anniversary of Brittany Chase’s passing in January 2021. As a leader in the Black Student Union and advisor of the Black Girls Society, she fostered inclusivity at Sidwell Friends. In her memory, donors established the Brittany Chase Memorial Fund to support equity and community programs.

🎉 Congratulations to Mark Mirski '76, recipient of a 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award!

From Sidwell Friends to neuroscience leader, he earned his MD and PhD from Washington University and excelled at Johns Hopkins as Chief of Neuro Critical Care ICU. 🧠⚕️

Mark created a Neuroscience Institute in Honolulu, serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief for Critical Care journal, and has conducted medical missions overseas to provide care for several heads-of-state.
