Don't forget our lunch and learn tomorrow at 12:30, room 106!
AGAST at GWU
AGAST is George Washington University's student association for fine art and art history undergraduate and graduate students.
Events include social hours, art-related film showings, gallery talks and tours, round-table discussions with students and staff, and much more. Meetings will be held after the meetings of George Washington University's Visiting Artists and Scholars Committee. All AGAST events will be announced on this page.
Our first back to school AGAST event has been planned! Bibiana Obler will be presenting "Studio Craft Extends an Invitation" Sept 14 at 12:30 pm, Smith room 106. Bring a lunch and join us to hear all about Professor Obler's research.
Hey everyone, I'm starting to plan the semester and am excited to plan things everyone wants to do. So comment below and let me know some things that sound good!
Next week on Oct. 8 at 6:30, GW's Museum Studies Student Association (MSSA) is hosting an event at the National Portrait Gallery, and it would be fun for FAAH students to join them! The event is the NGA's Pop Quiz, a trivia-style night that tests your knowledge of artwork in the galleries. October's theme is Contemporary Americans and will be based on the legends and icons featured in “Twentieth-Century Americans,” the four galleries on the museum’s third floor that showcase the major cultural, scientific and political figures of the 20th century. For more info check out: http://www.npg.si.edu/event/currentevents.html #/?i=4
The winning team gets a prize! Drinks are available for purchase in the courtyard cafe (craft beer and wine!) and if you check out the museum's blog before the quiz you can get a jump start on one of the questions: http://face2face.si.edu/my_weblog/events/
